Reviewed: Comfort4Men 50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights

I have reviewed several styles of Comfort4Men men's tights at Hosiery For Men, several including:

40 Denier Men's Support Tights

60 Denier Luxury Men's Tights

70 Denier Opaque Men's Tights

80 Denier Opaque Men's Tights

Comfort4Men men's tights are made in Germany to the very highest standards. They are a high quality product specifically designed to provide an excellent fit and level of comfort for the male anatomy. Comfort4Men men's tights are definitely not women's tights repackaged for men, nor unisex tights.

Comfort4Men recently sent me a pair of the C418M
50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights to review. These tights are part of the Comfort4Men Luxury range.

Luxury tights

Of their Luxury tights, Comfort4Men say that:

"You will be thrilled by the unique ultra-smoothness and velvety-softness. Just touch and feel it - the silky lustre speaks for itself."

Choosing Comfort4Men Luxury Tights.
I have written before about the extensive range of features, styles and shades that are available when ordering tights from Comfort4Men.

The C418M
50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights come in high waist and low waist styles.

C418M Comfort4Men Luxury Tights low waist

C418M Comfort4Men Luxury Tights high waist

You can then choose to have the tights with or without a fly opening, as well as choosing whether the gusset in either Skin or Black colour. There is a choice of three shades, and finally a choice of sizes: 4 (low waist only), 5, 6, 7 and 7+.
The style of C418M
50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights I chose had the following features:
  • High waist
  • Colour: Black
  • Gusset colour: Black
  • Fly opening: Yes
  • Size: 6

Materials and features
The C418M
50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights are packaged simply in a card enclosure that is protected by a cellophane sleeve.

This Comfort4Men style is made from 86% Polyamide and 14% Elastane.

The fabric is indeed luxuriously soft and sensual to the touch. The 3D microfibre fabric has a high degree of elasticity and tights have plenty of stretch. Heels are shaped.

The C418M
50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights are quite shiny in appearance. They are not completely opaque, but if put on carefully the coverage is even throughout.

The tights are sheer to waist. Seams are flat throughout and are engineered to the usual high Comfort4men standard. The brief has a rear comfort panel. The waistband is 4cm wide and very comfortable.

Like all Comfort4Men tights, the gusset and crotch area has been carefully designed to be comfortable for the male anatomy. The fly opening (should you chose for it to be included) is extremely well-designed and also easy to use. There is no need to fiddle about with the opening when going to the bathroom.

My preference is always for the high waist styles in Comfort4Men tights. These provide plenty of room and ensure the tights stretch well above the waist if required.

Fit and sizing
As mentioned above, the C418M
50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights are available in a range of sizes: 4 (low waist only), 5, 6, 7 and 7+

These tights need to be put on carefully to ensure that the fabric is smoothed and stretched evenly.

The fit was excellent with a snug fit to every part of the legs and waist. The soft fabric feels wonderful next to the skin.

The silky, shiny quality of the fabric provides excellent glide under trousers.

The high waist style provides plenty of room in the brief and the waistband can be stretched above the waist easily without straining the fabric.

On a very cold day, I found that these tights provided warmth but did not overheat the legs. There was no uncomfortable, sweaty feeling as the fabric seems to breathe well.

Colour range

The C418M 50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights are available in three colours: Black, Dark Brown and Navy.

I tested a pair in Black.

C418M 50 Denier Luxury Tights in Dark Brown with Skin gusset

C418M 50 Denier Luxury Tights in Navy with Black gusset

Price and availability

The C418M 50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights cost €41.75 plus shipping. Shipping rates vary depending on the destination.

For countries outside of the European Union, German value added tax is not payable. This is removed automatically during the order process.

Conclusion

The C418M 50 Denier Luxury Men's Tights are a superb product. I keep being surprised again and again at how good Comfort4men tights are.

As soon as I put them on, I thought 'wow!' The fabric is so soft and smooth and the fit was excellent. It felt like these tights had been tailored perfectly just to fit me.

The high elasticity provides a very snug fit, with the tights moulding themselves to your legs.

Highly recommended.

Reviewed: Comfort4Men 40 Denier Men's Support Tights

I have featured Comfort4Men tights regularly at Hosiery For Men, reviewing several styles including:

60 Denier Luxury Men's Tights

70 Denier Opaque Men's Tights

80 Denier Opaque Men's Tights

Comfort4Men men's tights are made in Germany to the very highest standards. They are a high quality product specifically designed to provide an excellent fit and level of comfort for the male anatomy. Comfort4Men men's tights are definitely not women's tights repackaged for men, nor unisex tights.

Comfort4Men recently sent some further styles to review, including the C401M
40 Denier Support Tights. These tights are part of the wide range of tights with support sold by Comfort4Men.

Support tights

Comfort4Men state that their support tights are:

"characterized by a function that can prevent vein problems. Through the wearing of our tights a pressure is exerted that guarantees continuous massage from the ankles to the thighs. The pressure from the tights reduces the cross section of the veins, the valves in the veins are able to close once more and the flow speed of the blood is increased again. Through the improved return flow of the blood to the heart, the risk of blood clots and thrombosis is reduced.

"Our support tights feel like a second skin. They are produced on the most modern machines and from high-tech fibres. Their transparency and thus breathability are unique for their support function. It is unbelievable how strongly this lightweight, yet hard-wearing material will support you."

Choosing Comfort4Men tights

Choosing tights from Comfort4Men is always an enjoyable experience as the range of styles, features and shades is so extensive, and wider than anything elsewhere. As I have written previously, you can 'individually design' your tights using features from several variants.

When selecting a pair of the C401M
40 Denier Support Tights, there is a choice of low waist and high waist styles.

You can then choose to have the tights with or without a fly opening, as well as choosing whether the gusset in either Skin or Black colour. Lastly, there is a choice of sizes: 4, 5 or 6.

C401M Comfort4Men Pantyhose with support 40den low waist

C401M Comfort4Men Pantyhose with support 40den high waist

The style of C401M 40 Denier Support Tights I chose had the following features:

  • High waist
  • Colour: Light Brown
  • Gusset colour: Black
  • Fly opening: Yes
  • Size: 6

Materials and features
The C401M 40 Denier Support Tights are attractively packaged in a card enclosure that is protected by a cellophane sleeve.

The tights are folded around a card rectangle that is sits inside the card enclosure, which itself opens out like a small tray. It is all very neat and well manufactured.

The C401M
40 Denier Support Tights are made from 87% Polyamide and 13% Elastane. Being 40 denier tights they are semi-opaque in appearance.

The tights feel very light and the fabric is very soft on the skin.

Heels are shaped and the toes also have reinforcement.

The panty/brief is made from a denser fabric that is more like 60 denier. Seams are flat throughout and are superbly engineered.

As mentioned above, the 40 Denier Support Tights are available in three sizes: 4, 5 or 6.

Support tights are designed to provide graduated compression: stronger support at the ankles and on the calf. Therefore one needs to put these tights on carefully and not rush the process.

The size 6 that I tested provided a very close and snug fit. Once on they seem to mould to the shape of the legs. One can feel the compression effect on the legs and the tights definitely provide a energising sensation. I tested them over two days: one day I was sitting mainly at my desk and the other I was pretty much out and about all day. The support provided was very welcome.

Glide under trousers is also excellent. These tights are ideal on days when you need some leg support and also a moderate level of insulation. Apart from that, they are simply extraordinarily comfortable to wear.

Colour range

The Comfort4Men 40 Denier Support Tights are available in four colours: Skin, Anthracite, Black and Light Brown.

I tested a pair in the Light Brown colour.

Price and availability
The Comfort4Men
40 Denier Support Tights cost €37.25 plus shipping. Shipping rates vary depending on the destination.

For countries outside of the European Union, German value added tax is not payable. This is removed automatically during the order process.

These tights can also be ordered from
Shapings, the Canadian online hosiery store, where they are priced at CA $53.95.

Conclusion
The C401M
40 Denier Support Tights maintain the same high standard in design, quality and comfort that is evident through the Comfort4Men range.

For men who need a moderate level of leg support they would be an excellent choice. Even if leg support is not a core requirement, I would still recommend these tights for being so comfortable and great to wear.

Some people might think consider that these tights are somewhat expensive, however you will be buying a top quality product that has been designed for men and manufactured to the highest standards.

Reviewed: Comfort4Men 80 Denier Opaque Men's Tights

I have written two previous reviews of Comfort4Men tights for men on Hosiery For Men. They have both received a huge number of page views, so it looks like they have been useful to readers.

Comfort4Men men's tights are made in Germany. If you look at the background information on their website you will see that immense care and considerable time has gone into designing and developing a high quality product that provides an extraordinary level of comfort and fit for the male anatomy. These tights are genuinely tights made specifically for men; not women's tights repackaged for men nor unisex tights.

I have been extremely impressed with the
Comfort4Men men's tights that I have tested so far. You can read my reviews of 60 Denier Luxury Men's Tights and the 70 Denier Opaque Tights.

Comfort4Men have sent me a further style for review: the
80 Denier Opaque Tights. These are part of the Comfort4Men range of men's opaque tights.

Choosing Comfort4Men tights

As I have previously written, choosing tights from Comfort4Men is always a different experience compared with buying tights online elsewhere. Each pair of Comfort4Men tights have different features that need to be considered.

For example, when choosing the
80 Denier Opaque Tights the first choice is whether they will be in high waist or low waist styles.

Then there is a choice of four colours: Black, Anthracite, Jeans or Natur.

The tights are also available with or without a fly opening. Theere is also a choice of gusset colour: Black of Skin.

Finally, there is a choice of sizes: 4, 5, or 6.

That makes a total of 96 possible combinations for the
80 Denier Opaque Tights!

The final choice I made was:
  • Style: C404M (80 Denier Opaque Tights)
  • High waist
  • Colour: nature
  • Gusset colour: Black
  • Fly opening
  • Size: 6

Materials and features

The 80 Denier Opaque Tights come in a cellophane sealed bag with cardstock liner.

The 80 denier opaque style is made from 90% Nylon and 10% Elastane (3D Lycra).

The overall appearance of the fabric is opaque, although somewhat less so where the material is stretched slightly more, such as on the thigh. The tights are completely matt with no shine at all.

The material is much less soft to the touch than the
60 Denier Luxury Men's Tights and 70 Denier Opaque Tights that have been reviewed previously.

There is a decent amount of stretch but again, perhaps less so than the previously reviewed styles.

As with all Comfort4Men tights, the waistband is very comfortable. The brief, which has a rear comfort panel, has plenty of room.

The crotch/gusset is constructed from different materials as can be seen in the picture above: a satiny fabric at the top and an extremely soft, stretchy material called Oeko-Tex. The fly opening, as in all Comfort4Men tights is extremely well-designed and provides easy access when required.

Fit and sizing

The 80 Denier Opaque Tights come in three sizes 4, 5, and 6.

I tested these tights in size 6 and the fit was very good. However, while these tights are an excellent product, I actually prefer the two styles I reviewed previously. In terms of sizing, I am not sure the 80 denier opaques would have stretched a great deal more than my 5'10" (178cm). The very soft and satiny textures of the 60 Denier Luxury Men's Tights and 70 Denier Opaque Tights also felt much more comfortable on the skin than the 80 denier style.

Colour range

The 80 Denier Opaque Tights are available in four colours: Black, Anthracite, Jeans or Natur.

The Natur shade that I tested is a creamy beige colour.

Price and availability

The 80 Denier Opaque Tights cost €37.70 plus shipping. Shipping rates vary depending on the destination.

Conclusion
I previously suggested that the Comfort4Men
60 Denier Luxury Men's Tights deserved a five star rating, if I provided a such a system on this blog (maybe I should - let me know readers). I would award the 80 Denier Opaque Tights slightly less at four and a half stars.

The plus points are the excellent overall design and styling for men, comfortable fit and the matt appearance which makes them suitable for 'stealth' wear under trousers or jeans.

However, I preferred the softer fabrics used in the 60 Denier Luxury Men's Tights and 70 Denier Opaque Tights and personally found these styles more comfortable. But the 80 denier opaques are great tights for men all the same.

I can only recommend readers to visit the Comfort4Men website and shop. The range of products there is very wide and you are sure to find something that meets your needs.

Quantcast

Have you heard of Comfort4Men (or C4M)?  It’s a hosiery company based just outside of Nuremberg (Nuernberg) Germany that makes anatomically correct tights for men.  It was started by a woman of great determination, and I think her story is best told by her:

“I worked in the fashion industry for many years and was always surprised that fashion and health care products such as support tights were only ever made for women. Support stockings and support tights would also help men to get through the day more comfortably if they have to sit or stand for long periods of time.

My story begins with a relative who suffered a serious thrombosis. From this point on he needed to wear medical compression tights. As no difference in fit was made between women and men, they were very uncomfortable to wear, particularly in the genital region. Up to this point in time, no-one apparently had troubled to find a solution for this problem. This was the basis for my idea.

Tights are ‘unisex’. Although in the world of fashion women have ‘taken over’ tights, they were originally exclusively men’s clothing. Today there is no reason why a man should not wear tights. Through their simplified production method and the way they are cut, modern tights are specially adapted to the female anatomy. So it is understandable that a man may have difficulties with the fit of support tights. For as the name says, support tights “support”, providing a compressed fit. For a woman, this effect in the panty part of the tights is often even desirable.  But for a man, it can be quite uncomfortable.

Our soon to be patented solution now also enables men to utilize the health and aesthetic advantages of tights without having to forgo comfort. With today’s technology there is no longer anything unaesthetic or even unpleasant about the support effect! It has nothing more to do with the earlier ‘Granny look’. Try it for yourself and you will see it and feel it, I assure you. That is what I have determined, and that is also Comfort4Men’s motto.”

– Angelika Weiss

C4M produces an impressive line of tights specifically for men.  There are 3 main style choices:  support, luxury, and opaque.  Within each style, there are several choices of color, denier, high/low brief, gusset color, fly option, and size.  The result is approximately 60 variations, for just one style!  The founder of C4M has taken a very thorough approach to the art of creating tights for men.

The “support” style comes in 40, 70, and 140 denier for low, medium, and strong support.  The “luxury” style is a special Tactel Nylon with Lycra 3D in 60 denier, and the “opaque” style offers either 70 denier (silky soft material) or 80 denier (firm texture).

The style I received is the C406M Luxury 60 den tights with a high waist and fly opening, in size 6 and the color anthracite.  C4M has their own sizing scale, where “6? is the tallest size for the Luxury style.

C4M Luxury tights package

First Impressions
The packaging is rather basic, and straight to the point.  It comes in a thick cellophane sealed bag with medium weight cardstock liner.  When removing the tights, there is an instant recognition of quality, by virtue of the obvious flat seam construction and the unique front comfort panel.  The tights have a generous length to them unstretched.

Materials
The Luxury style is 60 denier, constructed of 92% Nylon and 8% Elastane (Lycra).  The overall appearance is mostly opaque on the feet and calves, but becomes less opaque on the thigh and brief (depending upon your weight relative to the size selected).  It is a very comfortable weight material that has a slight sheen in bright light, but otherwise matte in appearance. The material has a decent amount of stretch, seemingly appropriate for 8% elastane content.

Panty/Brief
The brief is constructed of the same material as the leg, with no visible demarcation line.  The waistband is nearly 3cm in height, constructed of a slightly different texture than the brief, and feels very comfortable.  The crotch/gusset is comprised of two different materials:  a satiny smooth soft low stretch material in the top “reservoir” portion, and an extremely soft stretchy Okotex 100 fabric even softer than typical microfiber.  The gusset materials are stated to be quick drying, hard wearing, dimensionally stable, and able to wick away moisture.

Seams
Flat seams are used throughout the garment, and depending upon the color selected they may be more visibly pronounced.  On the anthracite color they are easy to see, providing a more masculine look to the tights. The toe seam is thinner, rounded, and quite soft.  The toe end is invisibly reinforced.

Sizing
These tights are offered in sizes 4, 5, 6, 7, and 7+.  I selected size 6 which just barely accommodates my size proportions, because size 7 appears too generous.  I am glad I selected size 6, as I found the tights to fit quite comfortably.

Wearing
I wore these tights several times under trousers as I headed outside for my activities of the day and evening. I found the fit to be excellent and comfortable, with reasonably good warmth while also providing moisture control.  It was definitely noticeable that they remained comfortable indoors as well as outdoors.  I did find that after repeated sittings and standing that some adjustment was necessary, but that is fairly typical of most tights.  What was really the most remarkable experience was to visit the lavatory and not need to bring my pants down.  Access through the fly was easy and swift.  What’s also great about the special crotch material is that it feels quite comfortable while providing reasonable support.  I have to say I enjoy wearing these instead of traditional briefs!

Specifications:

  • Fabric – 92% nylon (polyamide) and 8% elastane (Lycra).
  • Sizing – Accurate. See chart above.
  • Opacity (0 – sheer, 10 – total opaque) – legs (8.5 stand, 6.5 bend), brief (6).
  • Durability (0 – frail, 10 – like steel) –  9 (no signs of snagging from dry skin)
  • Waistband – about 3cm height, smooth and medium structured material.
  • Support – None in this style.
  • Features – double stitched flat seams throughout; special gusset design with fly.
  • Colors – Black, anthracite, and light gray.

Conclusion
These are really remarkable tights for men.  I very much appreciate the attention to the male anatomy and the fabric is very comfortable.  I could easily see wearing these on a frequent basis.  If there was any fault to find, it would be the need for just a little more elastane (Lycra) content, perhaps more like 12%.  This would help provide an even better fit that would require less adjustments.  But this is only to seek perfection.  I am indeed quite happy with what is delivered.  Of course, for tights with special features for men not found anywhere else, they are going to be more expensive than women’s tights.  The price for the Luxury 60 den tights is 42,95 €.  The light support tights can be purchased for as low as 30,50 € outside the European union.  Naturally, pricing in other currencies will be subject to fluctuation by current exchange rates.  In my mind, the cost is well worth it when considering the ability to customize your product options and the quality of what you get.

Reviewed: Comfort4Men 60 Denier Luxury Men's Tights

I first wrote about Comfort4Men tights for men last year when I tested and reviewed their 70 denier opaque tights.

I was extremely impressed with the quality and fit of that
Comfort4Men style and in my review you can see that I gave them a very strong recommendation.

I was asked by Comfort4Men to choose another style to test and review and the description of the 60 denier luxury tights certainly caught my interest:

"You will be thrilled by the unique ultra-smoothness and velvety-softness. Just touch and feel it - the silky lustre speaks for itself."

It is a rather enjoyable experience choosing what style of tights you want on the Comfort4Men website, as one of the welcome features is that you can 'individually design' your tights using features from several variants.

For example, when choosing the
60 denier luxury tights, one has to choose between the low waist or high waist style. Then there is a choice of colours: either Black, Anthracite or Light Grey.

You can then choose to have the tights with or without a fly opening. Lastly, there is a choice of sizes: 4, 5, 6, 7 or 7+.

That makes a total of 60 possible combinations just for the 60 denier luxury tights! Is there any other manufacturer of men's tights that provides such a choice in just one of their styles?

As I have written previously, a tremendous amount of care goes into the design and manufacture of Comfort4Men men's tights. These are not women's tights rebranded as 'unisex' or 'men's tights' - they are tights specifically designed for the male anatomy and therefore one can expect a superior wearing experience in every respect.

The 60 denier luxury tights I chose, were the C406M model, and had the following features:
